Woman joins Team Kidney Wales after seeing impact on mum

Kidney Wales are once again lead charity partner of the Brecon Carreg CDF 10K which will be coming to the Welsh capital on Sunday 7 September.

The charity relies solely on generous donations to make a difference to the lives of kidney patients in Wales. It offers essential guidance and support, funds critical research and provides financial assistance to help alleviate the burdens faced by those with kidney problems, so they can lead their best lives.

Each year so many inspiring people join Team Kidney Wales to take on the 10K.

Kymberlee Jones will be joining the team of runners participating for the charity in 2025. She wanted to take part after seeing the impact chronic kidney disease has on her mum, who is on the waiting list for a kidney transplant.

She said: “Running the 10K in support of Kidney Wales is incredibly important to me because it represents a chance to raise awareness and funds for a cause that affects many lives.

“Personally, I have seen the impact of kidney disease on friends and family, in particular my mother who has stage 5 chronic kidney disease and only one kidney. She is awaiting her transplant, hopefully in March. This his has deepened my connection to this charity.

“By participating in this event, I hope to honour those who have faced health challenges and contribute to the vital work that Kidney Wales does in supporting patients and their families.

“Each step I take during the race is not just for fitness but a commitment to making a difference in the lives of those affected by kidney conditions.”

You can enter the event and join Team Kidney Wales for just £1 when pledging to raise £125 for the charity.
